Sugar and Your Immune System - They Don’t Mix Well

Quick tidbit: Eating a high sugar snack or meal will limit your immune system tremendously for about 2 hours. High sugar also means simple carbohydrates. It does not mean complex carbohydrates - such as fiber.
Why does this happen:
Good question. I’ve been resesarching why this happens and I’m finding it difficult to find [...]

It is truely curious.
There is the

Or are they?
Think about it. What is the one thing they have in common?
Conscious eating.
People on these diets or eating lifestyles are focused on what they [...]

Aspartame is Harmful: Avoid it

Was scanning the FDA site today and found dockets submitted in 2003 demonstrating scientifically proven issues and strong anecdotal evidence with aspartame.
The main issues of aspartame is that it contains a phenylalanine group, methyl group and aspartic acid.
The methyl group becomes formaldehyde. Formaldehyde itself is not dangerous. Yet when metabolized by the liver, its metabolites [...]

Cow Milk: Harmful or Good?

I am not one to be a radical concerning cow milk. I believe I am on the fence still. Why?
Dairy products taste so damn good.
However, my experiences with cow milk and dairy products are more harmful than beneficial - especially in those with health conditions.

Rheumatoid Arthritis: removed dairy products from my wife’s diet and [...]

BAN Genetically Engineered Foods: Buy Organic & Support Local Farmers

I have just viewed the amazing documentary, The Future of Food. It is a gut-wrencher.
We must join together in getting ALL foods labeled genetically-modified if they are such. We must hold accountable the severe diseases and illnesses created by Monsanto and other large corporations such as ConAgra. With labels on food packaging, these large selfish [...]

Magnesium and Heart Palpitations

Dr Ben -

I see that your site offers a variety of magnesium supplements. I am currently pregnant and have been experiencing heart palpitations. My midwife told me to take magnesium. I have been taking [Brand X] 250mg pills, but I don’t think I’m absorbing as much as I should because I am still having palpitations before my next dose. So, my question is which of your products will best suit my needs?
